The most powerful movie of the year came from Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, which has now been watched more than 2.5 billion times.
The film’s star, Dwayne Johnson, was on hand for the screening at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, which also had a Star Wars: The Last Jedi panel.
Johnson, who was playing the titular villain in the blockbuster, thanked the fans for the enthusiasm for his latest role.
“I love this movie,” Johnson said.
“I love the way it’s told.
I love the story, and I love playing this character.
It’s like a big, big family and I am a big part of it.”
He added that he’d been working on the film since last summer and that the experience has been “totally worth it.”
Johnson also said that the audience loved the film’s “buzz” and “funny” jokes.
Disney and Johnson are expected to share the next installment of the Pirates of The Caribbean franchise next year.
The film will have a worldwide total of more than $200 million at the box office.
